Spring Rolls (Turon with Langka)

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 ripe bananas halved lengthwise
  • 1 cup ripe jackfruit thinly sliced
  • 12 spring roll wrappers
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Cut bananas and jackfruit into appropriate sizes.
  • Place a banana half and jackfruit strips on a spring roll wrapper. Fold and roll tightly, sealing with water.
  • In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and water. Cook until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry spring rolls seam side down for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Drain excess oil on paper towels.
  • Brush hot spring rolls with sugar syrup.
  • Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
