Make way for the extreme candy flavors and spinoffs on the X list of candies. Though this list of candy is a short one, the varieties herein are certainly not short on flavor. Each of the three Xtreme candies is just what they sound like…extremely bold versions of their already intense flavors. If you’ve not tried any of these candies, brace yourself for strong flavors beyond compare.

Xtreme Airheads

Unlike the standard Airheads flavors, Xtreme Airheads double down on this candy’s flavor profile. Manufactured by Perfetti Van Melle, Inc. as a spinoff to the wildly popular Airheads brand of candy, Xtreme Airheads are not for the faint of heart. Xtreme Airheads have a combination of intense fruit, sweet, and sour flavors, each juicier than the next. Xtreme Airheads are a striped rainbow in color and coated in sweet granulated sugar.

Like standard Airheads, Xtreme Airheads come in rectangular bars as well as Bites. Also akin to standard Airheads, Xtreme Airheads are chewy and taffy-like in texture. A much-loved spinoff of Xtreme Airheads and Bites are the Xtreme Airheads Sourfuls which are filled with a chewy, fruity, white filling. Xtreme Airheads are composed of sugar, corn syrup, wheat flour, glycerine, and artificial flavors. Lastly, one standard Xtreme Airhead strip contains 220 calories and 34 grams of sugar.

Xtreme Sour Smartie

If you love overtly sour flavors you’ll love the intense pucker these tablet-sized candies give. Like their predecessors, Smarties, Xtreme Sour Smarties are manufactured by Smarties Candy Company in Union, New Jersey. Also like the standard variety of Smarties, Xtreme Sour Smarties are chalky tablets that come in cellophane twist-tied wrappers. Xtreme Sour Smarties come in rolls of 15 fruity tablets in an array of pastel colors.

Xtreme Sour Smarties are fruity and sweet but intensely sour at the same time. They’re fun to eat one tablet at a time or spill a whole roll into your mouth at once. Significantly, Xtreme Sour Smarties are fat-free, gluten-free, and peanut-free, perfect for Halloween treats where you can’t anticipate food allergies. Of note, Xtreme Sour Smarties are primarily made of dextrose, citric acid, calcium stearate, and both natural and artificial flavors. Finally, a roll of Xtreme Sour Smarties has 25 calories and six grams of sugar.

eXtreme Sour Patch Kids

eXtreme Sour Patch Kids are a spinoff of the original Sour Patch Kids which are sour in their own right. eXtreme Sour Patch Kids are manufactured on the same platform as Sour Patch Kids by Mondelez International, Inc. Though the original Sour Patch Kids were introduced to candy markets in 1985, it wasn’t until 2012 that eXtreme Sour Patch Kids came out. The difference between the original and eXtreme versions is that the latter is sourer than the former which is sweeter.

eXtreme Sour Patch Kids are kid-shaped gummy candies in a colorful mix of colors per package. The soft-chew candies are coated in granulated sugar which offsets the sour taste a bit. eXtreme Sour Patch Kids are packaged in shareable bags that are popular movie theater treats. Moreover, eXtreme Sour Patch Kids have a mouth-watering, pucker-up effect that makes them a challenge to eat. The main ingredients in eXtreme Sour Patch Kids are sugar, corn syrup, corn starch, and citric acid to name a few. Ultimately, a serving of eXtreme Sour Patch Kids has 150 calories and 26 grams of sugar per serving.

The Final Letter
